Hello swim families!

What a great weekend we had at the pool this weekend. There were several time drops, a couple of state qualifying times, and (hopefully) lots of fun and celebration all around! Our combined middle and high school scores saw us finishing second behind Jefferson’s team and ahead of county rivals North Hall and Flowery Branch.

In addition to an excellent team effort, congratulations to Pace Nelson for qualifying in two more individual events (200 Individual Medley and 100 Freestyle)! Also our boys Varsity relay team consisting of Pace Nelson, Jeff Wall, Dean Wall, and Evan Young posted qualifying times in both the 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle Relays. In addition, we had 29 swimmers record at least one time drop or PR this week.

We are so proud of all of our swimmers, but want to recognize a few that have really stood out this week, in their work ethic, performance, and general great attitude.

This week we will split our meets with the middle school and beginning swimmers going to Frances Meadows to compete in the Gobble Wobble Invitational while the HS team will be traveling to Cobb Aquatic Center to compete in the Lovestrong Invitational hosted by Harrison High School. Please be looking for more specific information about each later in the week.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

PLEASE check/verify your swimmer’s events on Friday night using Swimtopia. If the students already know the number and events that they are swimming, it makes it much easier for them to find their heat and events on the heat sheet on Saturday.

You can check this by clicking on the “Entry” button on the homepage under “Upcoming Events” OR by choosing Calendars > Meets. Your registration for the meet should look like this online,

This gives the event number, the event name, and whether it is a relay. This is the registration for my son, showing that I should expect him to compete in two relays - the first being the B relay for the medley and he is the fourth swimmer while event #26 is the freestyle relay and he will be swimming again in the B relay as the first swimmer. His two individuals will also be listed. If you want to give the students this information ahead of time, it will mean that they will only need to find the heat and lane when they arrive at the meet. You can also see this information by logging into your mobile app.
