Swim Update 12/27/22

Hello swim families!

Here is our FINAL swim update for the 2022 year. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2023!

As nice as it’s been to have a break to slow down, we will resume practices tomorrow afternoon. We only have THREE more swim meets in the regular season, and one of those three is the Hall County Championship meet, so we want to ensure that we are good and ready to finish the season strong.

However, we will have an adapted practice schedule, so please see below for specifics!

Wednesday (12/28), Thursday (12/29), and Friday (12/30), we will have practice at Frances Meadows from 12 - 1 pm. Please have your swimmer there, dressed and ready to get in the water by 11:55 am to maximize the time we are given.

These three days will be “drag” days. This means the swimmers will swim in their street clothes for at least the first half of practice. Please have them wear a T-shirt, shorts, or leggings over the SUITS that they can also wear while swimming in the water! They will also need a completely different change of clothes to wear home. (They should still be wearing their suits!)

Next week we will head back to school, and our schedules will start to return to normal. We will have normally scheduled practices on Monday (Jan. 2), Wednesday (Jan 4), and Thursday (Jan 5). We will skip our practice on Tuesday morning (Jan 3) for this week and give everyone one last morning to sleep in before the big push to the end of the season.

Our next meet is scheduled for Saturday, January 7th, and is not very far away, so it’s important to try to make as many of the upcoming practices as possible to get us back on track and in condition.

If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to declare your intent for the upcoming meet asap, as the entry deadline is tomorrow! This is our last HOME meet of the season, so we will need LOTS of volunteers to ensure that the meet runs smoothly. You can find both signups on our homepage in the top right corner.

I hope you have had a great holiday season so far, and I look forward to seeing you soon!
