Hello swim families!

This is our last meet before the Thanksgiving Holidays, and it will be a "home" meeting this week at Frances Meadows in Gainesville. This meet is for JV (8th grade) and Varsity swimmers only, so 6th and 7th grade parents - enjoy your free weekend! 

Because this is technically after the holiday starts, we will not have a bus to/from the meet this week. All swimmers are responsible for their transportation to/from the meet. I need all swimmers at the meet, ready to go, and checked in with Coach Goodwin, by 8:45 AM. We will sit in our "normal" spots and swimmers should come prepared to get in the water as we will have early warmups. 

Looking ahead for everyone... a reminder that we will have some practices over the holiday break for those in town and available. These will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Frances Meadows (1545 Community Way). Swimmers should try to arrive no later than 9:50 and wait in the lobby. We will get in the water at 10 AM to maximize the time that we have for practice! 

If your swimmer is unable to attend, please encourage them to maintain their conditioning by participating in some cardio activity for a minimum of 30 minutes each day and strength training with pushups, pullups, burpees, and squats is a great way to maintain core, arm, and leg strength for the water! (I encourage at least ten daily of these, even if they are swimming, to add strength!)

Thank you all so much for a fantastic season so far! I know that those early Tuesdays/Thursdays, those late Mondays/Wednesdays, and those loooooooong Saturdays are hard sometimes, but your kids are thriving and growing and we're so proud of them all!
