Hello swim families!

It’s hard to believe that we’re already getting ready to wrap up 2023, but here we are! There are only two weeks left of school before the Christmas break! The kids have been working hard to prepare and grow as swimmers each week, and now we are ready to see them start putting all that hard work into action and achieving their goals. I know it’s challenging to keep pushing through as we are all tired, but staying the course right now is essential to ensure we don’t lose the momentum and skills we’ve gained!

That being said, we will have to adapt our week slightly. Thursday morning practice is CANCELLED this week, so there is at least one extra morning to sleep in! Sorry for any inconvenience, but personal commitments will keep me from driving the bus on Thursday, so we’ll take a break there and be well-rested for our weekend meets! That means I’d love to see everyone Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so you can get a strong week of swimming before the weekend.

Our middle and high schools will split this weekend for our meets:

• Middle School swimmers will compete at the Flowery Branch Candy Cane Invitational at Frances Meadows. There will be no bus to the meet, so all swimmers must have a ride to/from the meet! All swimmers should be there to check in with coaches by 8:45 AM. The meet should be over around 2:30 - 3:00 PM. I will have a better look at the timeline later in the week.
• High School swimmers will travel to Chamblee High School to compete in the Lakeside Invitational. We will take a bus to the meet, and as of now, we will leave some time between 1:30 and 2 PM. I will update you later in the week when I have more information! I suspect we will return around 9:30 - 10 PM, but we will know more once heat sheets and timelines are released later this week. IF we can find a fast food spot open after the meet, we will stop and get something, so please be sure they have money!

**We need to fill at least three volunteer spots at this meet. The directors have asked that anyone willing to volunteer for timers (half session only), runners, etc., complete the following signup genius.

Please remember our Parents Night Out fundraiser scheduled for Friday, December 15th. Please share the attached flyer with as many people as you can. This can be a fun night for everyone and an excellent opportunity for us to help out one of our own. Jack’s fight is ending, but the expenses for helping to care for him are great. Anything we can do to help with that burden is appreciated.

For your future planning purposes, we will practice at Frances Meadows over the Christmas Break from 11 AM to noon on the following dates: 12/18, 12/18, 12/20, 12/21, 12/27, 12/28, and 12/29.
