Weekly Swim Update - 10.06.24

Hello Swim Families!

The first official week of in-water swim practice is HERE! We are excited to get in the water and our season kicked off. Here are some important reminders for the week:

1. Practice Schedule:

As a reminder, here is our Practice Schedule for the week!

2. Practice Information:

All Practices this week will be held at the YMCA. Parents must provide transportation to and from the pool on Mondays and Wednesdays for evening practices, and bus transportation will be provided for morning practices.

Here are some critical notes as a reminder (and for our new parents).

  • Swimmers should sign in at the front desk.
  • Swimmers should enter the pool deck from the appropriate locker room.
  • There are cubbies/racks on the far side of the pool to store swimmer’s gear.
  • No swimmers should exit the pool area or locker rooms in wet clothing. After the swim session, swimmers should exit the pool via the far doors in the pool area. Parents should plan to meet swimmers outside afterward. If the parents wish to exit using the main entrance, swimmers must change before leaving.

Swimmers should bring a towel (2 for morning practices), two pairs of swim goggles, a swim cap if desired, and a refillable water bottle.

3. Swim Fees:

Remember that the remainder of the team fees are due Monday, October 7th. If you need clarification on the amount owed, please email [email protected].

Fees can be paid in check, cash, or via card using our Square account.

4. Swim Gear Delivery - Part 1:

The first of the team gear has arrived! All swimmers will be receiving a team t-shirt. Swimmers should pick up their shirts at Monday Night’s evaluations.

Additional gear (caps, sweatshirts, flannel pants, practice and competition suits, and swim caps) has been ordered and will arrive and be distributed in the next few weeks!

5. Placements and Next Week’s Practice Schedule:

We will email families individually regarding group placement and scheduling for next week’s practices via SwimTopia, so look for this information later in the week. Please note that swim evaluations are based on multiple skills, including technical swimming skills, timing, etc. It is our mission to develop each swimmer (regardless of practice session) into the best swimmer that they can be! We will continue to build on their strengths.

We are also excited to continue our dryland session with Coach McClure throughout the season. Our team has already seen remarkable growth from the few sessions, so we are excited to see how this looks in the future. Look for more information soon!

Hopefully, that’s everything… We are so excited about this season and the fantastic gains ahead! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

See you at the pool!
