Habersham Meet Information
Hello CB Swim Families!
Thank you for all your patience and support as we navigated our weekly changes this week. It’s been a challenging start to the season, but you’ve all been rockstars at adjusting and I’m so thankful!
For tomorrow’s meet:
Transportation
There will be a BUS tomorrow morning for the meet. We will plan on leaving no later than 7:15 AM tomorrow morning, so please plan to have your swimmer there around 7 AM. Be sure they bring their suits, goggles, caps, and towels. The swimmers and families will be waiting in the BLUE gym between swims, so a blanket or similar sit on and some things to do while waiting might also be helpful. A sharpie to use to mark events can also be helpful as well as a change of clothes. It can be a long ride back in an uncomfortable wet swim suit otherwise!
Seating
Seating for students will be in the BLUE gym at Habersham. If you’ve never been, the pool and gyms are connected in a long hallway. Seating is somewhat limited within the pool facility, so they ask that swimmers wait in the gyms until time to swim. Parents are welcome to also bring folding chairs and wait in the gyms (less crowded and air conditioned) if they so desire and then just come to the natatorium to watch while your swimmer is in the water OR you can set up in the natatorium and stay there. It is humid and warm, so dress accordingly. I also recommend seat backs for the metal bleachers if you have them for comfort.
Food
As noted in the GroupMe, there will be no food table this week. We will have a small selection of snacks (thank you those that signed up!). You are also welcome to invite your swimmers to bring a small bit of their own snacks throughout the day. Good examples: protein bars, peanut butter crackers, cheese sticks, bagels, etc.
The team will provide a chick-fil-a lunch for all swimmers around 11:30 AM. It will be a CFA sandwich, chips, and water. Swimmers should also remember to bring a refillable water bottle (always).
Return Home
We will return home via bus after the last event for our team. We anticipate our departure time to be around 2:30 - 3 PM at the latest given the current timeline, with a return to the school around 4 PM. I will use GroupMe to update when we are leaving on the bus, when we get to Oakwood, and when we get off at Exit 12 for you to plan accordingly to pick up your swimmer if needed.
Thank you again for a great week! We look forward to an awesome meet at a new location this season.
See you there!
Coach Goodwin
