CB Swim Update 10.11.26

Hello CB Swim Family!

Fall Break is here, and competition season is getting closer! It’s time to sign up for meets and get ready to show off our swimmers’ hard work in the pool.

Updated Practice Schedule

This week’s schedule has changed slightly from the version shared earlier. After learning that the CBMS football team advanced to the championship, we adjusted our schedule to accommodate the game. There will be no Bluff Team practice Thursday evening.

Please use the graphic below for the updated practice schedule.

Upcoming Meets

We will host our next two meets at Frances Meadows Aquatic Center in Gainesville:

  • CB Pumpkin Plunge: Saturday, October 24
  • CB Monster Meet: Saturday, October 31

Pumpkin Plunge Sign-Up Deadline: Sunday, October 18th by 6 PM

Monster Meet Sign-Up Deadline: Sunday, October 25th by 6 PM

Please log in to SwimTopia and indicate whether your child will swim in the Pumpkin Plunge. We need a response for every swimmer by the deadline, even if they cannot attend.

If your swimmer would like to request specific strokes, please include those requests in the “Notes” section for coaches to consider when assigning events.

Please note: With a large team and limited entries per event, coaches must balance individual goals with the team's needs when assigning events and relays. We will consider requests, but we cannot guarantee them. Swimmers are expected to compete in their assigned events unless illness or injury prevents them from doing so. Please communicate any concerns directly with the coaches.

Volunteer Sign-Ups

We cannot host meets without our parent volunteers! Thank you to everyone who has already stepped up. As competition season begins, we will need timers, gate workers, and help with setup and cleanup.

Please check the “Jobs” section in SwimTopia and sign up. Each swim family is required to volunteer at least twice during the season.

Admission & Heat Sheets

Beginning this season, admission will be charged through GoFan for spectators ages 18–64. Volunteers will receive free admission to the meet they work, but MUST be signed up by Friday before the meet. (Hospitality donations do not qualify for free admission). Gate workers will check tickets and distribute wristbands at the admission table.

With this change, we have decided to sponsor family passes for each of our registered swim families this season. Each family will receive two family passes, which may be used ONLY at Cherokee Bluff-hosted meets. These passes are not valid at meets hosted by other teams.

Printed heat sheets will not be provided at the meet. A digital copy will be sent to parents beforehand so you can print your own. You are welcome to use/share the attached flyer with friends and family to prepurchase tickets.

Thank you for helping make our season a success. Enjoy a restful Fall Break!
